Hey I’m glad you liked it! And that’s a good kitty right there!
I don’t know your situation, dreams and goals, and Im not one to offer empty platitudes. It’s so easy to be shunted off to the side of things, particularly when difficult times hit, and keep hitting.
I didn’t think I’d be able to afford school, I didn’t know anything about grants and loans. My mom was sick, and I had been paying out of pocket for a class here and there, which was becoming unsustainable. I was caught a conversation snippet while walking to my car of someone in a similar situation as me talking to a counselor on their way to the parking lot.
The next morning I was in the financial aid office getting set up, and while not a perfect solution, it led to me getting my RN and improving my situation.
Not to say my solution would be yours, just more to say you’re not invisible, sometimes opportunities arrive sideways.
🤗😉🌊🌀🔥😺✌️💯…thank you for your kind words….I’ll receive and walk the path if it arrives sideways… upside down.. or absolutely anyway it arrives or becomes apparent…lol…about it all as I go
You are a wonderful human. So wonderful that it makes me have tears. Growing up, life was tough, and as a kid whose family needed help, that always bothered me, being seen as a charity case instead of human. It didn't matter how I felt because "beggars can't be choosers" was a constant reminder. People like you were and still are a balm. Thank you for being so awesome.
I feel you! I grew up not having not much too. It’s tough because coming up in that way leaves scars you don’t realize until much later. For me, buying a bag of cornmeal to make cornbread for funsies is great… and then you remember it used to be for porridge because it was cheap and filling. Or the embarrassment felt when having a sleep over, knowing they had a big house, while coming to your small apartment. Too young to understand the nuances of why you’d feel a degree of shame, but having to tangle with it just the same.
On one hand it’s like sure, “it keeps ya humble” on the other hand, I wish I didn’t have the constant reminder of how “not enough” felt, if you catch my meaning.
I’m glad you enjoyed the piece, and hey, that perspective you carry, is a gift you can share with others too. You’ve been there, and still remember.
Oh man, this hits home like so much
I am living in a tent in the woods with my cat Gabby right now
And I feel invisible to everybody
Lol… About it all
Looking up at a red moon
