For When The Rain Fell A Third Time Today
“Struggle” hits different depending on who you ask. But when you’re in it, there’s really no other word that feels right.

“Struggle” hits different depending on who you ask.
But when you’re in it, there’s really no other word that feels right.
Maybe your struggle is a tough relationship. That moment you realize that no matter how you once felt, this person isn’t your person.
Maybe it’s being down to the last $10 in the checking account, fridge empty, payday still eleven days out.
And resilience?
It’s showing up for your third overtime shift this week when your stomach still isn’t right from that bug.
It’s that quiet sigh and slow closing of your eyes, bearing down until you finally get the chance to change your living situation.
People toss out clichés like “It’ll work out” or “Things will get better.”
But what is that, really?
Just a mirage of camaraderie. A bittersweet moment of gratitude that someone listened,
before you’re back to figuring it out alone.
You still need gas.
Or maybe you’ve got a headache waiting for you at home.
Our brains are wired for survival:
Pattern recognition.
Pain avoidance.
The old cravings for fat, salt, and carbs.
But tucked somewhere deeper?
Hope.
Sitting quietly in the back, next to the life lessons and the wisdom you’re still collecting.
Every day you wake up is another chance to choose differently.
Another opening for the universe to send help.
But you have to be here to meet it.
And I hope you’re here when it arrives.
