What a great article! I loved reading this. I always stayed away from horror because I thought it was all gore stuff, which I really dislike because it's entirely too plausible and too obvious. But I love psychological creepy things. H.P Lovecraft and similar, even aliens if done well. The questions always there for me, could it be real, or imagination, or hallucination. Could it be external manipulation or internal brokenness. And I loved those questions. Thank you for writing this!
Appreciated :) and 100%, gore for gore sake never really drew me. If I want that kind of entertainment there’s always war or action movies. I’ve recently discovered all the lore surrounding “The Backrooms” and find the premise fascinating as hell. I’ve been binging on that these days, (not even around the movie, but the lore the movie was semi based on). Maybe you’d find it interesting too.
