An Apology Too Late
A Poem For The Curio
A pain quickly forgotten,
my body now an empty husk.
A brilliance like water before me,
flowing from spaces unseen.
Across the reality I once claimed,
that now sought distance,
my soul stared at me.
Its countenance reproachful,
once a pristine silhouette.
Albedo speckled with accumulated filth.
Gossamer fabric caked in tar.
The eyes of my soul were knowing.
Dark and full of sorrow.
Absent of compassion,
absent of the forgiveness
I forgot to ask for.
As it turned away,
dissolving into the unknown.
I understood,
It had departed long ago.
